If you are like me, you have a TON of participation medals from triathlons/marathons throughout the area. If you are also like me, you want to hold on to them for various reasons (such as proving to your grand kids that 30 years ago you actually were mobile or having them as paperweights).
I recently joined an organization called Medals4Mettle (M4M). They are a nonprofit organization that facilitates the gifting of marathon, half-marathon and triathlon finisher medals from athletes to people who have demonstrated similar mettle or courage. The recipients can be any age and have exhibited such mettle by dealing with disease, handicaps or any similar challenge.
If your medal is donated locally, it will be given to a patient who has shown a great deal of courage and determination during their own “endurance event” at one of the Seattle area hospitals.
If you would like to donate any of your medals, please bring them to any of our team workouts! Thanks again and let me know if you have any additional questions (firstname.lastname@example.org).
